Stability Analysis for Yield and Quality Characters in Pea (Pisum sativum L.)

In the present investigation stability analysis of 30 pea genotypes was made for sixteen characters grown over eight environments. The G × E interaction, environment (linear) were significant for all the characters except for sugar content. The genotype × environment interaction was significant for all the characters except for pod length and number of seeds per pod indicating varied phenotypic expression of most of genotypes in different environments. Variance due to pooled deviation (non-linear) components were significant for all the characters except leaf area index, time of pod filling at interval, seed yield per plant and protein content. The genotype DMR-7, L-116, P-1852 and KPMR-157 were identified as stable genotypes for yield suggesting the preponderance of linear component G × E interaction. Six varieties were identified stable for protein content and one variety was identified as sugar free and stable for sugar content.
