Genetic Analysis of Yield and its Component in Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill]

The component and graphical studies were carried out in F, generation of 21 crosses in soybean [Glycine max (L) Merrill]. Both additive and dominance components were significant for all the traits viz., days to 50% flowering, days to maturity, plant height, basal pod height, seeds per pod, primary branches per plant and harvest index except pods/plant, dry matter weight/plant and seed yield/plant only dominance component were significant. A symmetry of positive and negative genes were observed is parental population and also asymmetry distribution of dominance and recessive alleles for all the characters. Graphical analysis indicated the absence of non-allelic interaction for all the traits except pods per plant, primary branches/plant, dry matter weight/plant and seed yield/plant in F, generation.
