Effect of Different Organic Amendments on the Growth of Sclerotina sclerotiorum (Lib.) De Bary in vitro

An attempt was made to find out the efficacy of different organic amendments against Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (Lib.) de Bary causing stem rot of Indian mustard. Extracts of six organic amendments viz., Sunflower cake, Safflower cake, Groundnut cake, Mustard cake, Neem cake and Farmyard manure were evaluated against aforesaid pathogen. The results indicate that all the organic amendments except groundnut, significantly reduced mycelial growth of the fungus over control.
