The last international conference of the Society was PBSC-2019 which was organized at Welingkar Auditorium, Matunga, Mumbai in collaboration with Ramnarain Ruia autonomous College, Mumbai during December 19-21, 2019 on the topic "Plant Biofactories: Strategies and Chellenges (PBSC-2019)". Conference was attended by the Directors, Vice chancellors and scientists from India and abroad. Prof R R Hanchinal, sitting President, Society for Plant Research presided over the inaugural session. Yoshiyuki Fujino San was the Chief Guest. Mr S K Jain. Prof. S K Bhatnagar, Founder & Secretary General, SOCIETY FOR PLANT RESEARCH and Dr Anushree Lokur, Convener of PBSC-2019 graced the dias. Dr Sasi Menon convened the inaugural session. Keynote address was delivered by Prof Bharathan from USA. Various awards were conferred by the Society for Plant Research, the details of which can be seen at www.vegetosindia.org/award. Awards are conferred to the scientists based on their contribution to science and society after seeking approval of the Chairman, National Screening Committee (Awards and Honours). Conference was attended by nearly 300 delegates from all over the world. Best papers and posters were awarded with a coupon worth US$ 200 on the purchase of Springer publications jointly by the SPR and Springer Nature.
