During Covid-19 Pandemic, the scientists and researchers were confined to their homes and in order to keep alive the academic activities, online lectures and webinars became the most convenient and popular tool of knowledge dissemination. SPR also organized few conferences/webinars till date.
First webinar was on "Covid-19 and beyond: Environmental and Health issues" organized by S. S. Memorial P.G. College, Ranchi on June 20, 2020 in which Prof (Dr) S K Bhatnagar delivered a lecture on the topic "COVID-19: An invisible encounter with human health". The webinar was convened by Dr Shamsun Nehar, Principal. Second webinar was organized by SPR and Ranchi Women College, Ranchi on "Plants as Immuno-modulators in Covid-19 Pandemic" which was addressed by Prof (Dr) S K Bhatnagar on the topic "Covid-19 Pandemic: Natural Resource: An ultimate human health protector" organized by Ranchi Women College, Ranchi on June 22, 2020 under the convenership of Prof Ichha Purak. Third webinar was organized by the Botanical Association, Bareilly College, Bareilly in which Prof (Dr) S K Bhatnagar delivered a lecture on "Biotechnological tools for agricultural reform" on August 13, 2020. It was organized by Dr Alok Khare, Head of Botany Department.
Recent Round table webinar was organized on September 16, 2020 by the Society for Plant Research (Vegetos) and Shobhit Deemed University on "National Education Policy-2020: Challenges and opportunities before universities for its implementation". It was attended by the Executive Body members of SPR, SU along with the Vice Chancellors, administrators of 30 universities from all over India. The webinar was live on the website www.vegetosindia.org. Besides this, under the leadership of Prof K Muthuchelian, President, South zone and Prof S D S Murthy, Secretary, South zone, two national conferences were organized. Similarly, Prof V P Singh, President, North zone and Prof Anjuli Agarwal, Secretary, North zone also organized a very successful national conference in virtual mood.
