Prof. Jayashree Rout is Professor & Dean, Department of Ecology & Environmental Science, Assam University, Silchar. She has a research experience of About 33 years in the field of algae and lichen research having more than 70 research publications in National and International journals to her credit. She authored 5 book chapters and has completed 7 research projects funded by DRDO, DST and DBT.
Prof Rout guided for PhD to 29 students and her area of research is algal ecology, toxicology, pollution and biodiversity, environmental biotechnology and lichenology.
Prof Rout is the member of 8 professional societies including Society for Plant Research and was conferred Senior Scientist Gold Medal Award by Association for Biotechnology and Pharmacy (ABAP) during 2009.
