Dr. Kartikeya Srivastava obtained his Masters in 1990 and Ph. D. in the year 1995 From the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, BHU, Varanasi. He also worked as Post-Doc fellow at Tata Energy Research Institute, New Delhi and other institutions before joining as Professor in the Department of Genetics & Plant Breeding, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-India in the year 2006. He is the Principal Investigator and In Charge, AICRIP Rapeseed-Mustard and has so far published 60 research papers in the journal of national and international repute. He has succesfully completed 6 outside funded research projects as Principal Investigator/Co-Investigator.
Prof Srivastava received many prestigious awards including 8 th Science & Technology Awards-19 Certificate of Excellence at Bangalore in 2019; Distinguished Scientist Award-2019 for outstanding contribution and recognition in field of Genetics and Plant Breeding in 3rd international Conference, 2019, Kathmandu, Nepal.
Prof Srivastava has so far guided 10 PhD students and 1 Post Doc on various aspects of vegetable, maize, rapeseed-mustard and mungbean improvement through conventional and molecular approaches. He is currently guiding seven PhD. Dr Srivastava is the life members of SOCIETY FOR PLANT RESEARCH other than 7 more academic societies and has attended many national and international conferences.
