Dr. S.C. Tripathi obtained his Ph.D. degree in Botany and joined Kisan P.G. College, Bahraich in 1978 as Assistant Professor in the Department of Botany. He served till his superannuation in 2020 after serving the institution for 42 years.
His major fields of interest were Plant Ecology, Soil Sciences, Phytogeography, Taxonomy, Anatomy and Embryology. Dr Tripathi served as Head of the Department from January 07, 2013 to June, 2020. Dr Tripathi worked as co-ordinator IQAC in 2011 and 2017 when the college was accredited as “A” grade by NAAC in 2017.
Dr Tripathi remained actively engaged in researches in Ethnobotany and Plant Pathology which is evident by his 82 research publications in reputed journals besides 2 book chapters. He guided and supervised five students leading to their Ph.D. degree under my supervision. He actively participated in 36 national and international seminars.
Dr Tripathi has been conferred the awards of Fellow, Society for Plant Research (FSPR) in 2011 and the Fellow, Indian Botanical Society in 2018. He was also conferred Lifetime Achievement Award by the Society for Research and Biological Sciences in 2020. He also received the Best Profile Teacher Award by the Alumni association of his institution and was also awarded by the Human Rights Association for teaching and research in the field of higher education.
Dr Tripathi is the life member of Indian Botanical Society, Society for Plant Research, Society for Research in Biological Sciences and the Society for Green World and Sustainable Development.
