Dr. Suniti Kumar Kuriyal, currently serving as an Senior Assistant Professor at Pt. L. M. S. Campus (Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University, Rishikesh) is dedicated to advancing education. His academic journey includes contributions to notable institutions such as Bareilly College, Bareilly, Govt. P.G. College Uttarkashi and Govt. Postgraduate College, Doiwala,Dehradun. Dr. Kuriyal s practical application of knowledge is evident through roles as a Biotechnology Consultant for the Directorate of Industries in Kanpur, Senior Biotech Consultant at SRV Floritech & Consultancy in Bareilly, and Mushroom Consultant at Koshika Training Centre, Bareilly.
His research prowess is evident in a remarkable publication record, encompassing 25 research papers, 5 books, and 6 patents across Botany, Microbiology and Biotechnology. Dr. Kuriyal s diverse expertise is reflected in his involvement with research societies, holding life memberships with the Indian Botanical Society, Indian Phytopathological Society, Society of Plant Research, and Society for Research in Biological Science. Recognition includes fellowships such as a Senior Research Fellowship from CSIR, New Delhi, F.B.S. from the Indian Botanical Society, and F.S.P.R. from the Society for Plant Research.
Beyond academia, Dr. Kuriyal serves as an Advisor for the World Wide Fund for Nature India and as a District Advisor for the Viola Nature Club in Bareilly. His successful completion of research projects spans ‘Income-generating activities in Uttarkashi District, Nursery development’, ‘Plantation for checking soil erosion, Fruit processing of Leh Berry and income generation for SC population in the high Himalayan ranges’, and ‘The use of forest litter biomass for mushroom cultivation as an income source for the Jaunsari Tribal Population of Uttaranchal Rajya’.
Furthermore, Dr. Kuriyal is deeply involved in mentoring and guiding the next generation of scholars. He has undertaken the supervision of 2 doctoral students, guiding them through their Ph.D. research, thereby fostering the growth and development of budding researchers in the field of Soil Microbiogy, Biotechnology and Botany.
