Prof. Meenakshi Sudhir Vaidya is presently the Vice Principal of Science faculty and Research Guide in Botany at S.V.K.M’s Mithibai College of Arts, Chauhan Institute of Science & Amrutben Jivanlal College of Commerce and Economics (Autonomous) which is affiliated to the University of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
Dr Meenakshi has her expertise in Plant Anatomy, Pharmacognosy, Phytochemistry and Medicinal Botany. Dr Vaidya obtained her M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Mumbai. She joined Mithibai College as lecturer in 1989 and has published more than 75 papers in peer reviewed journals. She has two patents to her credit which have been incorporated in the ‘Asia Pacific Who’s Who’: Vol. XIV – 2016. She is the recipient of the Best Educationist Award by International Human Rights Association on 5th September 2016. She was also honoured by Carolus Linnaeus Research Award & Recognized as the world’s 500 most Influential Taxonomists for the year 2015 with Fellowship & Life Membership of IASR.
Dr Vaidya is a Fellow of Indian Botanical Society, life member of Indian Science Congress Association from 2014, Association of Teachers in Biological Sciences from 2008, Bombay Natural History Society and the Society for Plant Research.
