Abstract

Frullania riojaneirensis (Raddi) Ångstr. recorded for the first time from the state of Nagaland. Details of the taxonomic description, illustration and identification key to the Indian species of the subgenus Chonanthelia is provided. The threatened status of the species has also been assessed for the first time as Endangered (EN) by applying the Criteria B of IUCN. The species ecologically significant for preventing erosion, stabilizing soil, cycling nutrients, moisture, and providing habitat for small organisms so, habitat management, ex-situ conservation, and further research have been recommended to conserve this species.
