The current study aimed to screen the antioxidant and antiulcer activity of ethanol flower extract of Abutilon indicum (AI). GCMS analysis was performed for the extract to identify the presence of possible compounds. Antioxidant activity was performed using ABTS and DPPH assay method. The antiulcer activity of AI ethanol flower extract was tested at 250 and 500 mg/kg in Wistar albino rats using an ethanol-induced technique. The results were compared to the standard drug ranitidine (20 mg/kg), and the parameters were assessed. In addition, an in silico and ADMET study of the isolated compound on human carbonic anhydrase I and II were conducted to provide further evidence for its antiulcer activity. Further, 500 mg/kg dose of ethanol extract reversed altered ulcer index, pH, total acidity, and free acidity levels, indicated dose dependent potential therapeutic effect in combating ulcers. In silico docking studies were performed with the compounds identified by GCMS data. Compound adheres to Lipinski’s rule of five, suggesting its potential as a drug-like molecule. Overall, result concluded that AI ethanol flower extract exhibited good antiulcer activity by inhibiting the release of gastric hydrochloric acid and protecting against gastric mucosal damage due to the presence of some important identified bioactive compounds viz. squalene, 1-octadecen, hexadecenoic acid ethyl ester, octadecanoic acid ethyl ester, Pentacosane, Docosanoic acid ethyl ester, phytol etc.
