Bacopa monnieri is a well-known Indian medicinal plant, commonly called as Brahmi known for its brain tonic and antioxidants property. Post-harvest preservation technique such as drying is essential to preserve bioactive components of medicinal plants during processing. Ultrasonication technology where ultrasound waves of frequency more than 20 kHz are used as pre-treatment prior to drying which lowers the drying time and hence gives high-quality dried herbs by reducing degradation of heat sensitive components. In this study, different ultrasonic amplitude (30, 50 and 70%) is applied for variable time (5, 10, and 15 min) and dried in hot air cabinet dryer at different temperature (40, 50, and 60 ℃) to reduce moisture of leaves from 85% to 6%. Ultrasonic pre-treatment at 50% amplitude for 10 min and drying at 50 ℃ temperature was found to be optimized with drying time of 168 min and it was having 2.69% of Bacoside A, 35.10 ± 0.65 μg TE/mg TAC.
