The present work promotes the utilization of renewable kitchen waste (orange peels) to unburden the environment by squeezing out its metabolites, for biogenesis of valuable silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) that could be a promising alternative to antibiotics. The method employed in the experiment for AgNPs fabrication is green and cost effective. The AgNPs were featured by Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis), Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Dynamic light Scattering, X-ray diffraction (XRD). The complete synthesis of AgNPs was accomplished within 20 min with average diameter of 11nm. The zeta potential of AgNPs was found to be -22.49 mV. The negative potential obtained by AgNPs could be due to the capping ability of the active metabolites in the orange peels extract and indicates particles stability. The volume distribution of the fabricated AgNPs were determined, showing polydisperse nature of fabricated AgNPs.
