The Himalayas, recognized as a global biodiversity hotspot, are home to many undocumented species. This study reports the occurrence of one such species, Poa nitidespiculata, marking its first recorded presence in the North-West Himalaya. The species was last collected in 1949 from Central Nepal and had been absent from Indian taxonomic literature for decades. After a gap of 75 years, it was recollected in 2024.
