Abstract

Based on a critical consultation of the protologue, original material, and relevant literature, Euonymus theifolius Wall. ex M.A. Lawson is here reduced to a heterotypic synonym of E. vagans Wall., owing to the broad range of leaf variation observed in the latter. Euonymus vagans Wall. subsp. macrophyllus Kanjilal, P.C. Kanjilal, Das & Purkayastha was treated as a heterotypic synonym of E. bockii Loes. ex Diels by Ma (2001); however, the former name is assessed here not to be validly published.
