Abstract


Hoya oreogena Kerr (Apocynaceae), so far known from Arunachal Pradesh of India, is reported here for the first time from Assam. The species was previously known only from Arunachal Pradesh of India, based on the published record. However, the present study revealed the occurrence of the species in Kokrajhar and Lakhimpur districts of Assam set extended distributional records for India. The present study comprises detailed taxonomic description of the plant with habitat photographs and a brief note on its phorophytes and epiphytic vegetation associated with the epiphyte. Occurrence of the species in Assam marking a significant extension of its distributional range within the Northeast India.
