Priva cordifolia (Verbenaceae) is acclaimed among researchers due to its ethno-medicinal and therapeutic properties. In this communication, authors first time report the taxon from Gangetic plains of West Bengal. An illustration, distribution map within India, a habitat photo and a note on diagnostic characters and comparison with the allied species is provided for easy and quick identification in the field.
